Shirt c/o FM Boutique / Shoes c/o RunwayShoes / Blazer ASOS / Skirt Topshop / Jewellery Temporary:Secretary
Bird print is a big trend this Spring/Summer and this bird print sheer shirt I'm wearing is from FM Boutique. It's a sheer material with a contrasting blue collar and gold buttons. The print is really nice, I like the hand-drawn feel of it as opposed to a repeated vector image. The hemline of this shirt is a drop back (the back is longer than the front) which I am not so keen on. I love the idea of it and they always look awesome on other people but I don't feel I can pull it off so how I would wear this shirt? Simply tucked in. I like the smart look anyway!
This week, I wrote my first blog post as a Fabulette on a blog/E-Zine called The Modern Girls Guide. I haven't mentioned this yet but The Modern Girls Guide is an extension of a book called The Modern Girls Guide To Fabulousness written by author Bethanie Lunn. At the end of December, Bethanie asked me if I'd like to be part of a new project where she has recruited 15 women to be part of a team called The Fabulettes. I am now one of their writers and we all write once a week and report to her as our editor. We are all going to stay true to ourselves in our own voices and tone of writing, which is how Beth wants it to be. It makes it more fun to read that way! In between that, there's also style and beauty challenges for us too which I'm looking forward to because I'm ready to step out of my comfort zone! We do the challenges and then report back to the readers, and the aim is to give you more style and beauty ideas. There is going to be a nail polish challenge which I am hugely excited about as you all know I love my colourful nails!
I'm not a brilliant writer, I know that. However, I do love researching information and visuals, getting facts and learning from them to put a feature together. I've been working on some graphics to go with the posts, and I feel like that is my strength. I am inspired by creative visuals and it makes me work in a better way. I am really enjoying it and I have got in to the swing of things. I am so excited about it, I have prepared a few features already. It feel really good to be part of a team! Head over there to meet the rest of The Fabulettes!
